Australia's Outback & The
Surrounding Northern Territory

There is no better place to see the Outback than Australia's Northern Territory.  This is the continent's last frontier - a place they call the "Never Never"

"The Territory", as the locals call it, is a land of ever-changing landscapes, great distances, and cultural diversity. It is a place of legends and mystery spirit. Before Europeans explorers set foot on Australian soil, it was inhabited and revered by the Aboriginal people.  This indigenous culture has occupied the continent for over 60,000 years - making this the oldest living culture in the world!

The Territory is twice the size of California on a continent that's about the size of the contiguous United States. Australia's Northern Territory has more than 90 parks and sanctuaries.  It is a land of contrast: un-crowded, yet teeming with life in a combination of woodlands, rainforests, deserts, and semi-arid plains.  It is home to a wealth of wildlife species, making wildlife viewing a natural part of any Territory itinerary.

Visitors to the Territory can also experience Aboriginal culture, ballooning, camel safaris, camping, canoeing, crocodile farms, cruises, cycling, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding among their many choices.  Perhaps the Territory's most distinctive sight, the 600-million-year old Uluru (Ayers Rock), is one of the most photographed natural structures in the world.  Uluru changes hues as the sun crosses the sky and glows red, especially at dawn or sunset.

There is something inspiring about the Territory.  This is a land of challenge and reward, and a land of vast openness and great mystery.

Welcome to the Outback!
